Is Kross two different sails?

The Kross range is one platform tuned by size range. It's Tribal’s modern crossover sail platform. From small Freeride sizes to large Freerace power. One DNA, scaled for your conditions: Freeride and Freerace. Your smallest sail should feel controlled. Your mid-size sail should feel balanced. Your largest sail should feel powerful.

That’s exactly how Kross is built. One architecture. Two performance zones. One consistent evolution. Instead of separating Freeride and Freerace completely, Tribal developed one intelligent crossover platform, scaled by size and tuned per range.

Kross scales performance by size:
• All-round Freeride balance in mid sizes (4.7 - 6.4)
• Freerace power, speed and drive in large sizes (6.8 - 8.4)

Which version of KROSS should I choose?

Choose your Kross sail based on size and conditions. Small for control and wave-focus. Mid for balance. Large for speed and drive.

Is it suitable for beginner Freeride?

Kross is not for absolute beginners. Perfect for intermediate to advanced Freeride levels. It is ideal for progressing riders who plane confidently and wish to challenge their limits in regular Freeride, Freerace or Bump & Jump conditions.

Which mast should I use in my Kross sails: SDM or RDM?

KROSS has been designed for use with both RDM and SDM masts.

The narrow mast sleeve allows for easier rigging in the smaller sizes with RDM masts; the larger sizes are perfectly suited for use with SDM but RDM can be used as well.

SDM will guarantee a more direct feeling as RDM on the other hand will give the sail a softer feeling, both combined with perfect performance, control and stability.

What is the difference between KROSS-X and KROSS-S?

Kross-X focuses on comfort and control.
Kross-S focuses on speed and a more locked-in feel.

Can KROSS-S replace a slalom sail?

KROSS-S comes close, but remains easier to ride and is more accessible.

Do I need cams for speed?

No. KROSS-S proves you can go fast without cams.
