How does MK3 compare to MK2?

MK3 adds more lift, grip and downwind power, with a calmer feel in chop.

Is MK3 only for pros?

No. While it’s elite grade, many advanced freeracers and GPS sailors find MK3 easier to control than MK2.

Does MK3 suit wide boards?

Yes. It was designed specifically for modern wide-tailed slalom boards with large sails.

Do all sizes feel consistent?

Yes. Pre-Preg Carbon with zero twist construction ensures identical flex and response across all sizes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Libero suitable for beginners?

It is not for total beginners (first day on water). However, it is the perfect "next step" board. If you can plane in the harness and use footstraps, the Libero will accelerate your learning curve massively compared to an older board.

How does the Thruster set-up work?

Sizes 88 and 98 come standard with side-fin boxes. Sizes 108 and 118 can have them on request.

Single Fin Mode: Fastest, best for upwind and flat water.
Thruster Mode (3 fins): More control in high wind, better turning in waves, and a "looser" feel.

Which fin should I choose?

For Speed/Freerace/Bump & Jump: Choose the Tribal PowerMax. It gives you lift and drive.
For Comfort/Maneuvers: Choose the Tribal Kruze. It is forgiving and turns easily.

What is the difference with Radix?

Radix is a detuned race board (stiff, direct, technical). The Libero is a tuned-up freeride board (softer feel, easier to gybe, more comfort). If you want to race your GPS, take the Radix. If you want to have fun all day in any condition, take the Libero.

What is included in delivery of LIBERO?

Libero does not come standard in a boardbag, but this can be arranged upon request. This board does come with a Kruze or PowerMax fin. Also included in the package are of course the footstraps and screws, and fin screws to make sure you are well prepared to take your new board to the water for the first time. If you have any questions regarding the footstrap set-up or way of attachment to the board, please do not hesitate to contact us for more useful tips and advice!
